Wardrobe Basic: Layering Turtleneck

DSC_0101.JPGIf you were to look inside my closet you would probably notice that it is most filled with neutrals, basic pieces and lots of stripes. I used to think that basic pieces meant boring and that in order to wear something fun it needed to be new, trendy or bold. But lets be honest, that can be expensive and a lot of work to constantly try to wear something new. That is why I love basic pieces that I know I can wear time and time again.DSC_0092.jpgOne of the pieces I have been wearing on repeat lately are my layering turtlenecks. I have a few of the tissue turtlenecks from J Crew (as worn here), as well as Land’s End layering turtleneck. Truly though, I wear them at least once a week and have featured them in several blog posts as well (see here, here, here and here).DSC_0094.jpgThey are perfect under a sweater or pullover for extra warmth (as styled here), look great on their own, and can easily be dressed up-I love wearing them under a simple dress or tucked into a skirt for a chic and simple look.DSC_0098.jpgBeret | Sweater | Turtleneck | Jeans | Hunter Boots (similar here)

Below are a few other ways I have worn them on over the past few months. I know this simple item is one I will get so much use out of all year long!
