Today I am sharing the first look at styling a few pieces from this winter’s capsule wardrobe. A simple black dress is absolutely a wardrobe staple in my opinion. My favorite black dress is sleeveless which allows me to wear it all year long, I just have to be a bit more creative in the winter!

Work Ready

I love pairing a button down under my black dress to make it a tad more professional looking. Here I paired it with this ruffle collared button down, but almost any button down would work. I have even paired it with a festive plaid button down for the holidays (as seen here).

Bundled Up

I love wearing skirts and dresses in the winter no matter the temperature. Layering a turtleneck underneath is one of my favorite ways to stay warm without looking overly layered. Add a fun scarf and tights and you are ready for winter weather.

Out to Dinner

Whenever we are heading out for dinner and I don’t know what to wear I usually opt for a black dress. I like to pair it with tall boots (and sometimes tights) for added warmth and use a scarf as a shall or wrap to stay warm during dinner. You can also through on a simple cardigan and be just as ready for a dinner date!
