Lightweight Jackets for Spring

March 21, 2019March 21, 2019 ~ taylorrcannon ~ Leave a comment

If you know me or regularly read the blog you know that jackets are my weakness. I know that I have far too many but I can't help it. In Nebraska I wear a jacket about 9 months out of the year so I feel like the jacket is often the only part of my … Continue reading Lightweight Jackets for Spring

3 Ways to Style Hunter Boots

October 3, 2017October 2, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 5 Comments

The temperature has started to drop and the past few days have brought on scattered showers meaning it is officially time to break out the Hunter Boots again. While I wear these boots nearly year round, they are a regular from late September to early May when we get a lot of rain, snow and … Continue reading 3 Ways to Style Hunter Boots

The Year Round Dress

September 5, 2017September 4, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 12 Comments

It's no secret that fall has been on my mind since mid-July. I hate to admit that and I feel guilty that I started to look forward to fall so soon rather than just enjoy what is left of summer. Now with September finally here I am both excited for cooler temps, but also anxious to … Continue reading The Year Round Dress

Picking Wildflowers

August 31, 2017August 31, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 5 Comments

My favorite part of summer is in August when the yellow wildflowers start to pop up along the road and throughout fields. I know they are technically "weeds" but I think they are beautiful. (It's all about perspective, right?)During a bike ride around the lake Andrew and I saw a huge field covered in endless … Continue reading Picking Wildflowers

Chilly Summer Morning

August 29, 2017August 28, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 9 Comments

Fall is moving in. While the days remain warm, the mornings and evenings are significantly cooler, even a bit chilly compared to the normal constant summer heat. While our weekend at the lake was supposed to be mostly in the 90s I knew that mornings would be quite chilly so I came prepared with this … Continue reading Chilly Summer Morning

Dinner on The Dock

August 23, 2017August 21, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 15 Comments

As I mentioned Andrew and I spent this past weekend at the lake, something we were both looking forward to. We were anxious for a weekend free of distraction, housework and errands and knew time at the lake would be a great way to enjoy these last few summer days. We got in just after … Continue reading Dinner on The Dock

A Trip to the Farmer’s Market

August 16, 2017August 16, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 15 Comments

Every week Andrew and I say we are going to visit the Farmer's Market on Sunday morning. The weekend arrives and we get caught up with work, housework and running errands and never make it. This past weekend we were determined to go and it seemed like the perfect day for it. We were both … Continue reading A Trip to the Farmer’s Market

5 Closet Staples You Need

August 9, 2017August 9, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 5 Comments

My wardrobe is pretty simple, filled with a lot of basics and staples. While I do occasionally opt for a statement blouse or fun dress I like to stick with simple pieces. For me, having a closet full of staples makes it so much easier to get ready in the mornings as almost anything will go … Continue reading 5 Closet Staples You Need

Slowing Down: Summer Sweater

July 26, 2017July 25, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 14 Comments

I hate to admit it but I already have fall on my mind. It is the beginning of my favorite time of year which is pretty much Labor Day to Valentine's Day. I love the weather, the cozy clothes that accompany the cold and all of the holidays and festivities that take place.I know it … Continue reading Slowing Down: Summer Sweater

White Skirts & Wildflowers

July 19, 2017July 19, 2017 ~ taylorrcannon ~ 12 Comments

When it started to warm up early this spring I told myself one thing I really wanted to get for this summer was a white skirt. Well months went by and I hadn't yet found one yet and then began my "summer without shopping" challenge and I was still without a white skirt, so I … Continue reading White Skirts & Wildflowers

TEN MONTHS ♥️ Who is this little boy and where did my tiny baby go? Everyday I see more and more of Jack’s personality develop. He is determined, fearless, clever, funny & sweet. I can’t believe how quickly time is passing by. I love watching him change, but I can help thinking that I wish things would slow down. So thankful I get to be this little man’s mom.
This time last year I waddled around as we picked out our tree. Growing in discomfort (& circumference) I couldn’t wait to meet our sweet baby. Taking Jack to pick out a Christmas tree this year was a “pinch me” moment. For so many years I tried to picture what it would be like to share my favorite holiday traditions with littles. It’s better than I ever imagined. Although he doesn’t understand a lot of what’s happening, watching him experience the magic of this season is incredible. So thankful for my sweet little family and to be able to share this time of year with Jack.
So much to be thankful for today, and everyday, but what first comes to mind is being this sweet little boy’s mom. Motherhood has been the biggest challenge and greatest blessing. I’m thankful for everything from the cute smiles & infectious giggles to the sleepless nights & fussy days. Every minute has been an adventure that I couldn’t love more. Watching Andrew become a dad and seeing our families embrace Jack is truly heartwarming. I love this crazy, colorful and loving family of mine ♥️ Happy Thanksgiving
Heading home today to be with our families for Thanksgiving. This is my favorite time of year and I am so excited to share it with Jack ♥️ I can’t wait to include him in family traditions and start new traditions as a family of three.
