When planning our trip to San Francisco we both agreed that we wanted to take a day trip to the Napa Valley. We had such a great time when we visited 2 years ago that we were anxious to go back. With Napa only being a quick hour drive from San Francisco it made for the perfect day trip.We planned to stop at a our favorites in the area and explore a few spots that we missed the last time.
ST HELENA
We started our day in St. Helena. I absolutely love this little town. Main Street reminds me of Stars Hollow and has such a charming vibe, lined with great restaurants and fun shops. We spent the morning exploring and visiting a few new spots too.
Model Bakery
Our first stop was The Model Bakery in St. Helena. They truly have the BEST English Muffins. We grabbed a couple English Muffins (with butter & jam), avocado toast, and coffee and set out to find a spot to enjoy our breakfast. The bakery can get quite busy and crowded so we found a nice little bench about a block away. It was the perfect start to our day.
Next we headed to Charter Oak (although a new restaurant which we didn’t eat at, we were both curious to see what the grounds were like) and then to Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. We explored the gardens and admired the little farmer’s market stand they currently had. It was such a cute spot that I will definitely be going back the next time we are there. They have a great little cafe and country store to visit.
YOUNTVILLEAfter a morning of exploring St. Helena we drove to Yountville. Like St. Helena, Yountville is extremely charming. It is a very picturesque town with a new and pristinely developed main street. There is so much to admire and enjoy in Yountville from The French Laundry’s culinary garden, fantastic restaurants, fun shops and small grape fields.
I love visiting the shops in V Marketplace; they have a variety of stores and galleries. While in Yountville we also stopped into Finesse to bring home some delicious chutney. This little store is a great stop for foodies and culinarians.
BouchonAfter some shopping and walking around town we stopped at Bouchon for lunch. We didn’t get the chance to eat here during our last trip so we were really looking forward to this meal. It did not disappoint-everything we had was wonderful.
Bouchon Bakery
While we were WAY to full from our lunch at Bouchon we stopped at the bakery to grab a few treats for later on. It is impossible to pass up the macarons at Bouchon Bakery. They are by far the BEST macarons I have ever had (even better than Laduree in my opinion) so be sure to pick up a few (or several) when you are near by!
BACK TO ST HELENAAfter a drive along Silverado Trail and a bit more exploring (aka walking off everything we had eaten so far) we headed back to St. Helena for dinner and one last stroll through town.
Gott’s RoadsideWe couldn’t resist a trip to Gott’s Roadside. It may look like a simple burger joint, but its so much better. The burgers are amazing and the shakes are the best (the coffee shake being our personal favorite). This is a Napa staple if you are ever in the area.
We had such a great day visiting old favorites and exploring a few new areas that we missed on our last trip. This area will always hold a special place in my heart and I already can’t wait for our next trip back!
This post is bringing back all the memories from my trip! We stayed in Yountville and lots of these places are familiar! Also, we ate at Gott’s and it is unreal!! Glad you guys had fun!
