Honeymoon in Napa Valley

Andrew and I spent a week in Napa for our Honeymoon. We left right after Christmas and returned to our home on January 1st. This was truly a perfect trip to end the year, begin our our first adventure together in marriage, and start the New Year.

Neither of us had ever been to this part of California and we had no idea what to expect. The more we planned and researched the area the more wonderful it sounded and after arriving we quickly learned it was better than we could have imagined.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Meadowood just outside of St. Helena. The resort is tucked back behind vineyards, hillsides, and a tree lined drive which create a truly breathtaking site. Tree Drive.tif.jpg

Our days were spent exploring St. Helena and Younteville, and hiking around the resort property. Each night we would return to our room with a view of the croquet lawn and light a fire while we enjoyed dinner or dessert from wonderful area restaurants and bakeries.

We set aside a day of our trip to head towards San Francisco to visit Muir Woods for the day. For those of you who know how much I love nature, trees, and the environment it will come as no surprise that I cried more than once as he hiked along the trails. It was truly beautiful and such a refreshing experience. dsc_0086

We enjoyed a spectacular and intriguing dinner at The Restaurant at Meadowood and on New Year’s Eve we celebrated with dinner at The French Laundry. Both were incredible dinners that we still talk about today and look forward to experiencing again soon.

The resort, scenery, sites, and food were beyond what we expected. This was truly our idea of a perfect trip and we can’t wait to go back for our 5 year anniversary.
