Okay, so it isn’t really Stars Hollow but I am heading to Washington Depot, CT-the town that inspired Gilmore Girls creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, to create Stars Hollow.
Washington Depot is going to be the site of the very first Gilmore Girls Fan Festival and my mother-in-law and I are going together. I got her hooked on the show after talking about how much I love it and now she is hooked too- I mean really, what’s not to love??
So of course, as with all trips I started planning right away. This will be my first time to the East Coast (other than a class trip to DC in high school) and I am so thrilled that it will be in October while all the leaves are a variety of beautiful colors.
What I love about parts of the East Coast is that everything seems so close together. There are so many charming small towns that will be close to where we are staying and where the festival is being held. The minute we decided to make the trip I started researching the surrounding area for fun things to do.
Aside from the massive amounts of coffee that I plan on drinking while we are at the festival (because what else would a Gilmore Girl do?), here are few things I am looking forward to most about Connecticut in the fall…
- Fall Foliage
- Cold Weather/Warm Layers
- Yale University
- Coastal Lighthouses
- Quant Inns
- Cider Donuts
