Book Club: Growing Boldly Part 3

Happy Monday, friends! I’m back with a little recap of Part 3 of Growing Boldly– I: Imagine the Life You Dream Of. With each section of this book I keep reading words that I needed to hear. Its helping me to see things in a new perspective, clear my head, and find motivation to pursue the things that make me happy and let go of the noise of everyone else’s expectations.

If you haven’t read yet, I highly encourage picking up a copy! And if you are reading with us, don’t forget to check out Sarah’s recap as well!

Here are a few of the quotes and messages from this section that really resonated with me:

  • “You’ve got to love what you do in order to be successful at it.” -Michelle Obama (pg. 89)
  • “Don’t ever ignore those little curiosities in your heart, the tugs that seemingly come from nowhere.” (pg. 95)
  • “So few that live have life” -Emily Dickinson (pg. 94)
  • My biggest take away from this section wasn’t found in a quote. Instead, Emily shared a story about her friend and her decision to stay at home with her children. Being “just a mom” is something I struggle with but this story helped me realize, I will never be “just a mom”. I am so much more than that, even though this season of life, “mom” is my primary title. Which I am truly thrilled about, but it isn’t the only thing that defines me. And this story (found on pg. 99) helped me see that.

Whether you are reading along with us or simply finding comfort in the quotes we are sharing from each recap, I hope you are feeling encouraged and inspired. And don’t forget that Emily Ley has some other great books worth checking out as well! I have truly loved reading A Simplified Life & When Less Becomes More by Emily and I think you will too.
