I don’t know about you but my morning routine seems to set the mood for the rest of my day. For me this is why it is so important to make sure that my morning is filled with all things good and peaceful.
On the days that I don’t follow my usual morning routine I just feel “off” and often struggle to get through the rest of the day. I honestly believe that following a routine every morning helps create balance and can improve your mental/physical well being. So what do I do in the morning that helps me get through the day?
Don’t Hit Snooze: I really try not to do this but there are days where I just can’t help it. If you keep your “wake-up” time consistent it will make rolling out of bed so much easier each morning. Your body will respond to routine so get in the habit of getting out of bed when the alarm goes off rather than hitting snooze.
Get Moving: The mornings that I make it to the gym leave me feeling much more satisfied and ready to tackle the day. Even if I’m not going to do a serious workout, just walking at the gym or getting up to do yoga makes a huge difference!
Don’t Skip Breakfast: You most likely heard it often growing up that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For me this is entirely true. Not only do I feel so much better on the days that I have eaten breakfast but making sure I have something nutritious helps me get through the day even more.
Take Your Time: On the mornings that I don’t give myself enough time to get ready and I have to rush out the door the rest of my day feels rushed and I just can’t seem to settle down. Give yourself enough time in the mornings that you won’t have to rush even if that means waking up just a little bit earlier.
Find Inspiration: Who wants to read something depressing first thing in the morning? Start your day with an inspirational quote, something to make you laugh, or a daily devotional. The tea I drink each morning (Yogi Tea) has an inspirational quote or saying on the tea tag. It’s a great way to give me a little boost in my attitude for the day.
What do you do to have a great morning?
Not being rushed & taking your time is literally the key to a good morning!

Not hitting snooze is the ultimate struggle! I guess mostly in the winter time or on rainy days. I have noticed that now that it’s lighter out in the mornings I’ve been actually waking up before my alarm. But I totally agree breakfast helps make for a better morning!!!

Such a struggle in the winter! But I agree it has been easier lately with the sun rising earlier 🙂
