I think one of the biggest mistakes you can make as a parent is thinking that you don’t need help. Whether it’s from friends and family, parenting books, or medical professionals, you will NEED help. You can’t do it all on your own and you need to be open to learning new things no matter how many kids you have. Parenting isn’t one size fits all, each child has different needs. This is something of which I am constantly reminding myself. So just because something worked with my first doesn’t guarantee it will work with my second. I’m constantly trying to learn and improve.
There are several accounts that I love following that provide really great information on a variety of topics like feeding, development, emotions, and health care. I thought I would round up a list of my favorite accounts that have helped me over the past 4 years.

Curious Parenting: Curious Parenting is so great! Parenting is hard and we can’t always find the right words and best ways to handle a situation but they break it all down. The biggest help for me has been their posts on approaching emotions. They also often share posts with common phrases and responses we tell our children and then provide better alternatives.
Resilient Little Hearts: I save so many of their posts for encouragement. They always provide little words of wisdom that resonate with me even when I don’t realize I needed a little lift.
Big Little Feelings: Big Little Feelings has been such a great resource for me. They share tips for gentle parenting and approachable ways to help with typical toddler struggles like tantrums, sharing and discipline.
Peds Doc Talk & The Pediatrician Mom are really great resources for medical information. You should certainly consult your own doctor with questions but both of these accounts share really great resources.
Solid Starts: feeding kids can be HARD. Especially when they are just starting to eat. Solid Starts provides really great information on the appropriate way to serve food to your little ones.
Kids Eat in Color: this account is a great resource for understanding the best way to talk to your kids about food and how to help them become good eaters. It also often shares reminders that it’s ok if you kid doesn’t eat certain foods or fry everything on their plate.
Safe in the Seat: if you only follow one account from this list PLEASE, follow this one! Car seat safety is SO important to me and so many people get it wrong. Car seats are not a simple thing. There is one right way to do it and so many simple mistakes that people make daily. Read through her blog and watch some of her videos to make sure you are using your child’s car seat properly.
I hope this post is helpful and that you find these accounts encouraging and resourceful! Are there any parenting accounts that you follow and love? Let me know in the comments below so I can check them out!!
