Favorites for Early Fall

My favorite season is slowly approaching. While I’m still embracing the warm weather and enjoying time outside, I can’t help but look forward to cozy and snuggly fall days.

Not only is fall my favorite season, but I truly enjoy the transition period from summer to fall. Chilly mornings and warm afternoons are lovely. However those changes between seasons can often be hard to dress for. I’m rounding up some of my favorite pieces for early fall when it isn’t quite sweater weather and we still have some warmer temps.

Trench Coat: a classic trench coat will always be a closet staple for me. They look great with jeans and white sneakers but also go well with a simple dress too. A trench isn’t too heavy and is perfect for damp fall weather.

Lightweight Sweater: a simple cable knit sweater is seasonless in my opinion. Whether you layer it in chilly months or throw it on for cool summer evenings, it’s extremely versatile.

Black Blouse: a beautiful black blouse like this one is another great staple and also seasonless. This one can easily be worn with jeans and a comfortable pair of flats or even sneakers, but also works for a date night with heels.

Striped Shirt: Stripes will always be a staple in my wardrobe. A casual striped shirt is a go-to for me, whether tucked into a skirt or paired with jeans and sneakers I love the versatility.

Chambray Shirt: I tend to wear chambray mostly in the spring and fall but it’s great for all seasons. I love to layer it under sweaters when temps drop. Or wear it with a breezy pair of shorts or linen pants for warmer weather.

White Button Down: Another seasonless staple perfect for layering during the transitional weather. It pairs well with jean and dressy flats, or linen pants and a pair of sneakers.

Dudley Stephens: I wear my Dudleys year round but they get worn regularly in the fall and winter. Not only are they comfortable but they have a chic and elevated look making them quite versatile. In the cooler months I wear one at least 3 times a week style with joggers, leggings, jeans or thrown over a dress. Use this link to receive $25 off your purchase.

Dark Wash Jeans: A great pair of structured dark wash jeans is a must for me. I love that they have a sleeker, dressier look.

Linen Pants: Easy linen pants have been a new favorite of mine this summer and I know I will continue to wear them into the fall. I love this pair in both the green and khaki, perfect for fall.

Relaxed Denim: A pair of relaxed denim is perfect for fall. Casual and comfortable styles are great for cooler and cozier weather. I love this pair of jeans because they pair easily with sneakers and a cozy top or dressy flats and a simple t-shirt.

Comfortable Loafers: A pair of simple loafers like these or these are great, especially for fall. I always gravitate towards loafers in cooler weather when it isn’t quite time to break out boots but you need a bit more coverage. You can snag a pair of Rothys loafers (or any other style) for $20 off using this link.

White Sneakers: Another staple in my closet, I wear white sneakers year round. Whether paired with a casual dress, jeans, or loungewear they go with almost anything.

Dressy Flats: A pair of dressy flats like these are magic to me. They are elegant and chic, they can elevate the simplest of outfits. Margaux has several pairs of gorgeous flats. I will forever be a fan of Margaux shoes. Use this link for $20 off your first pair!

The beauty of all of these pieces is that so many of them can be mixed and matched together to create several different looks to carry you into the fall season. What are your favorite transitional pieces as the weather cools down?
