Hi everyone! It has been a LONG time since I have shared a blog post. Truthfully I have really missed it but if I have any free time its usually spent showering or napping because thats just newborn life. Although its been nearly 6 weeks since Eleanor’s arrival so I suppose she really isn’t a newborn anymore 😦
Anyway, if you follow me on Instagram or know me in real life then you’ve already heard that our sweet little Eleanor arrived on June 8th. We are absolutely in love with her and have spent the past 6 weeks soaking up lots of newborn snuggles and adjusting to life with two kids.
When people check in that is usually one of their first questions… “how is life with two?” So I wanted to share a few thoughts about the past couple weeks and becoming a mom of two. To be honest, I went into this with VERY low expectations. Our newborn experience with Jack was HARD. So I didn’t exactly have the best hopes for life with a newborn and a toddler. But that being said, it has been better (and dare I say easier…) than I expected. To my surprise the toddler has been more of a challenge than the newborn. But that’s not to say that Jack hasn’t been a great big brother, because for a nearly 2.5 year old he has adjusted rather well, we are very proud of him.
I spent the first couple weeks feeling guilty and kind of mourning my alone time with Jack. But we have made sure that I get special time with him and I think that has made the transition much easier. We’ve had special dates and fun time while baby sister sleeps. So really not much has changed other than my house is messier, I’m a lot more tired, and I spend a good portion of my day snuggly my babies in my pajamas. But I really can’t complain, we are still in that blissful “I can’t believe how lucky and blessed we are” phase.
I know down the road I will have lots more to share on balancing life with two kids, but for right now I’m still trying to figure that balance out. In the mean time I’ll be soaking up snuggles with both kiddos and sharing way too many baby photos with you all 🙂
Thank you to everyone who has shared so much love and support with us since Eleanor’s arrival, we are so grateful for our wonderful family and friends!
