The Year Round Dress

DSC_0581It’s no secret that fall has been on my mind since mid-July. I hate to admit that and I feel guilty that I started to look forward to fall so soon rather than just enjoy what is left of summer. Now with September finally here I am both excited for cooler temps, but also anxious to soak up as much of summer as I can before fall officially starts.Year Round Dress1DSC_0582The past few weeks my daily outfits had been a constant rotation of my summer skirts and dresses. They are definitely most comfortable in the humidity of Nebraska summers and I was anxious to wear them as much as possible before packing them away for winter. While most of my summer dresses and skirts will get packed away as the temperature drops there are a few dresses that I have in my wardrobe that I can wear nearly year round, this striped dress being on of them.DSC_0586I had been searching for a versatile striped dress for months and just hadn’t found any that I really loved until I saw this one. I wanted a striped dress that I would get plenty of use out of meaning I could wear it for more than just the summer. Given the combination of cream and navy stripes and longer length I know this dress will transition well into fall. DSC_0590Its casual style allows it to easily pair with sandals and converse in warmer months, or riding boots for colder months. It also goes great with Hunter Boots which is perfect for colder rainy/snowy days! Pieces like this that are functional, comfortable and versatile are always a win for me. I am all about finding pieces that will work in multiple seasons and with several styles.DSC_0592With fall slowly making its way, I know I will be wearing this dress often. With the change of seasons, next week I will be sharing a few ways to transition your summer favorites into the fall!Year Round Dress2Dress: Jack Wills (similar here) | Shoes: Converse | Riding Boots: Sam Edelman| Belt: similar here and here
