As a millennial I thought I would never say goodbye to my skinny jeans. I tried a few slim straight pairs and thought that was as far away from skinny jeans I could get. But then on a whim I decided to try a pair a little out of my comfort zone. I saw a dark wash pair of Mother Denim The Rambler and wanted to try. Much to my surprise they arrived and I loved them.
First, let me just say that finding a pair of great fitting jeans can make ALL the difference. I know jeans get a bad rap and are often thought of as restrictive, rigid, and uncomfortable, but not all jeans are created equal. Every pair I have tried from Mother is soft, comfortable and stretchy without being too elastic. They are truly perfection.

The Rambler jeans are typically referred to as straight leg jeans however I do feel that they are a bit wider than a typical straight leg cut. However the length and width of them is perfect for me and works so well with several shoe types. Flats, heels, sneakers, sandals; they work with it all!
Since getting my first dark wash pair I now have a light wash (seen above) and a pair in white as well which have been perfect for spring and summer! These have become my “go-to” pair of jeans.

A little note on sizing, I find them to run pretty true to size. All three of my pairs have a decent stretch to them without being too stretchy or loose by the end of the day. They hit me right at my ankle bone (I’m about 5’6″ for reference), but you can find other inseam lengths if needed.
If this wider straight leg isn’t your style I also love The Dazzler. They are a slim straight fit, just slightly wider than a skinny jean which is a great transition if you’re wanting to branch just a little. These are also very comfortable, soft and have a good stretch to them.
