Three Ways to Wear My Favorite Knit Cape

When I discovered Alice Walk two years ago I quickly started to fall in love with their pieces. I recently shared a review here of my favorite items from Alice Walk. This knit cape quickly became a favorite and I almost immediately ordered it in another color. It is so chic and soft, not to mention extremely versatile.

It is definitely an investment piece and one of the questions I am asked most often is “it it worth it?”. So I thought I would share the three different ways that I wear it along with ideas of how to style it.

Outfit Details: Knit Cape, Turtleneck, Belt, Flats

Option 1: Open

Wearing this cape open is the most casual option, but it can also easily be dressed up. I have worn it like this with both dresses and jeans. I often wear it open for travel. It is the perfect accessory for flights or road trips. I wore it with a t-shirt and linen pants for a flight this spring. The back is also long enough that you could pair it with leggings for an elevated athliesure wear.

Option 2: Draped Over Shoulders

Draped over the shoulders gives off a very elegant look. I’m not sure why but it feels very Jackie O. to me .

I love this with jeans and heels but you could also do dress pants for a dinner out or to wear to the office.

Option 3: Belted

This look is a little trendier than I usually opt for but with the right belt it can also be timeless. The belt gives it an entirely different look. I think it would be great dressed up with heels but it could also be fun with over the knee boots.

This cape is such an easy and effortless way to dress up the simplest of outfits and comfortable enough for a busy lifestyle. It is my “go-to” for when I just don’t know what to wear. It immediately makes me feel more put together. It comes in 6 different colors and I have to say I love each and every one. I personally own the black and the oatmeal, but I’ve had my eye on the green for quite some time too. Really you can’t go wrong with any of the colors!
