Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and enjoyed the long weekend! It is officially the Christmas season and I couldn’t be more excited about it. To be honest I have been in the holiday spirit since early November but was trying to focus on Fall and Thanksgiving. before getting too carried away. Now that Thanksgiving has passed I am ready for all things winter and holiday related!Every year I have visions of turning our house into a Winter Wonderland, but I usually end up keeping the décor fairly simple. Instead of going over board with decorations there are a few small touches I add to really embrace this holiday season
Holiday ScentsI absolutely love lighting a scented candle and enjoying the wonderful smells of winter that fill the house. I feel like I end up collecting a couple more each year and I definitely have a few favorites. The candle pictured above is old and I can’t find it online but this one is so similar-they smell like a pine forest and its amazing. I also love this Gingerbread candle and this Nest Holiday candle.
Music
Whether I am decorating the tree, baking a festive treat or just doing housework I love to put on my favorite holiday songs. Pandora and Spotify always have great holiday playlists but I also have a few Christmas albums that I love to put on. A few of my favorites are James Taylor, Michael Buble, Faith Hill and Leslie Odom Jr. These albums are truly magic and by far some of the best Christmas compilations ever! They will definitely put you in the festive holiday spirit!
TreatsAfter lighting a lovely candle and putting on some holiday music, what better way to get in the spirit than settling in with a warm drink and a festive treat? Sounds like the perfect winter day to me! We decorated these cookies the day after Thanksgiving and it is always such a fun way to celebrate. Whether you decide to bake cookies, build a gingerbread house or just enjoy a cup of hot chocolate be sure to treat yourself to something festive!
I am so excited to jump into the holiday season. This week I will be sharing info about Giving Tuesday, a HUGE gift guide, and some holiday outfit inspiration!
I’m getting excited for the Christmas season too. The cookies you made look really good!
