Trench Weather

Cooler temps are among us and I am so excited! We have had more rainy days lately which I always look forward to. Any excuse to break out a coat or my rain boots and I am thrilled!DSC_0385I held off as long as I could on posting anything too “fall” as I didn’t want to rush the seasons, but with the slight change in weather it seems appropriate. It doesn’t quite feel like fall just yet as we have still had a few pretty warm days here and there but light layers have definitely been necessary! DSC_0388As we headed out for a walk on a drizzly Sunday morning I knew I would need my jacket until it started to warm up. I put on my favorite lace top (which Andrew calls my “Gran” top… if you watch Gilmore Girls, he is referring to Richard’s mother-see here). But regardless of whether he likes it or not, I love it! It is perfect for that transition period into fall as it has long sleeves, but is a super light and breathable fabric.DSC_0390I have also been incorporating more fall colors into my wardrobe as the season changes. Which means a lot more earth tones-my color pallet of preference. I got this purse during our trip to Chicago knowing it would be perfect for fall, but truthfully I have been using it ever since we got back as it goes with nearly everything.DSC_0384I bought this trench before last fall and it has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. At first I planned on ordering the trench in a classic tan but I wanted something a bit different. The navy with brown piping still goes with almost everything in my fall/winter wardrobe and still looks just as classic. Now I am officially in the “fall mood” and ready for boots, jackets, and scarves.DSC_0386Trench: Ralph Lauren | Lace Blouse: Goodnight Macaroon | Jeans: JCrew Factory | Loafers: Coach, old (similar here and here) | Purse: Dooney & Bourke

Next week I will be sharing how to transition your summer pieces into fall!
