For some reason I seem to read more often in the Fall & Winter seasons. With the change in weather and cooler temperatures it is so much more appealing to stay in and curl up with a good book.
Now that we are finally getting to colder weather here in Nebraska I am excited to start working on my Winter Reading List:
- The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman: I saw the preview for the movie coming out and when I found out it was based on a book I knew I had to read it. I love non-fiction and am always fascinated about stories that take place during WWII.
- Harry Potter & The Cursed Child by J.K Rowling, Jack Thorne, & John Tiffany: Yes, I know this is a juvenile fiction/young adult book. My 10 year old brother is currently reading it but after reading the original Harry Potter books as a child myself I feel like I have to keep reading.
- Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogel: Very different from the other books on my list but Dead Souls has been on my “to-read” list for SO long! I love Russian literature (Ann Karenina is one of my favorites) so I think this will be a great short read.
- Talking as Fast as I can by Lauren Graham: I am a huge fan of Gilmore Girls and I have heard great things about Lauren Grahams new book. It’s a series of short stories telling tales of her journey from Gilmore Girls and the revival and everything in between.
I am always looking for new books to add to my list from classics, biographies, novels and non-fiction. What are some others I should pick up?
I really enjoyed The Cursed Child, so I’d definitely recommend picking it up! Although one thing to keep in mind – it’s very different (and will never compare) to the original books.

I just finished reading Divergent, the first in its series. LOVED IT. So as you know, I must finish the other two. So, I definitely recommend it!
