This year I am trying to keep my style and purchases simple and straightforward. While I normally don’t jump on trends or fast fashion I don’t always stick to what is practical. This is partially why I created the Seasonal Capsule Wardrobe Series, because I want to make sure that I am really utilizing what I own and buy. This means making sure that I will wear it more than once (possibly in more than one season), style it different ways, and that I will still like it after a year. I know fashion and style can’t always be black and white like that, but I want to do my best to remain practical in most of my purchases.For me, sticking to only basics can sometimes leave me feeling uninspired or bored with what I have, so I like to find simple pieces with a twist or fun detail, like this ruffle collar turtleneck. A turtleneck is definitely a simple and basic piece but the ruffle details makes this one a bit more fun.Its neutral colors make it versatile and its detail isn’t too bold or over the top that it will go out of style. I know that I can just as easily pair it with black jeans or a skirt to dress it up.This year I hope to be sharing a much more simple approach on style and outfits. Fewer trends and more of that is versatile, comfortable and practical. I want to share outfits and pieces that I know I will wear over and over again and I know this turtleneck will be one of those pieces!
