New Series: Seasonal Capsule Wardrobe

DSC_1667After reflecting on the blog this past year I knew I wanted to make some changes. Outfit and style posts are usually among the most viewed/popular posts that go up and while I love doing them they often leave me feeling a bit guilty. I don’t want to be a blogger that is constantly featuring new clothes and accessories because first, it is unrealistic for most people, and second, it seems wasteful and unnecessary to have SO many clothes.

I don’t want to encourage a materialistic lifestyle or give the impression that I wear something once and then cast it aside for something new and fun. While I enjoy getting new clothes I know that this year I need to cut back on my shopping and spending and get creative with what I already have.

That isn’t to say that I won’t still occasionally pick up something new, but I want to feature more versatile, economical, and sensible style posts (like I did here, here and here). So this year I am starting a new series, “Seasonal Capsule Wardrobe”. Each season I will share a new capsule wardrobe with 20-30 items and showcase various ways to style it all. I will still do other style posts, but I am hoping by sharing a capsule wardrobe each season it will help me think of new ways to style what I already have and get more creative with my outfits.

You don’t constantly have to get new clothes to look great, its all about knowing how to effectively style simple and versatile pieces! If you have any specific requests for capsule wardrobes or a ” wear it # of ways” post let me know!

Check back tomorrow for the launch of the Winter Capsule Wardrobe!

**NOTE: I decided to launch the Winter Capsule Wardrobe and see how it goes before deciding if I will do it for every season. I want to be creating enjoyable and helpful content so feedback is always much appreciated! If you like the capsule series, let me know 🙂

  1. I will definitely be interested in this new series. I love that you do not want to promote a materialistic lifestyle. So much consumption in this day and age and I like that you can still inspire by sharing that you do not have to buy every single thing/trend that comes along. Looking forward to it!

  2. I think this is a great idea, Taylor! I am excited to see what you put together. It’s amazing what you can do with some basic pieces and a few accessories. I also like the “less consumption”, budget friendly aspect of your blog. It’s way more realistic for people to relate to.
