3 Simply Festive Looks for the Holiday Weekend

This time of year there are so many amazing festive skirts and dresses. Truth be told I want to buy them ALL and I probably would buy several if I had enough events and functions to which I could wear them. However, the holiday season for me is pretty casual so other than Christmas Eve Mass I really don’t have many reasons to get super dressed up or purchase a dress that I can really only wear once a year. For this reason, instead of sharing a post of festive holiday dress attire I thought I would share 3 simple and subtly festive looks for the holidays. Each of these looks can easily be dressed up a bit more and not only are they comfortable and have their own festive touches but they can also be worn throughout winter and aren’t specific to the holiday season.

Festive ScarfBeret and Stewart Plaid Scarf_1742My MIL brought me this scarf back from Scotland and I have been wearing it routinely ever since. Plaid is always a good idea in my book, but you definitely can’t beat Stewart Plaid during the holidays!Beret and Stewart Plaid Scarf_1747Beret & Stewart Plaid ScarfAnd while the beret itself may not be considered festive it seemed like a fun touch for added warmth. I have been wearing mine every chance I get this winter!

Dress it up: A simple swap of black jeans or a fun skirt can easily dress this look up a bit!

Plaid CapeDSC_1737.jpgI have had this plaid cape for a few years now and it remains one of my winter favorites. It adds a fun touch to a simple outfit and can easily be layered over a long sleeve or turtleneck (as worn here) or over a chunkier sweater for a warmer outfit. Its a great little extra layer! While this one is no longer available I have linked a few other festively plaid options below!DSC_1738DSC_1734.jpgDress it up: To dress up the cape I usually pair it with black jeans or dress pants and heels. It would also be SO fun with these leather leggings!

Winter RedChristmas Red SweaterI know I shared a snip of this look on Monday but it is so fitting for Christmas that I had to share it here too. I honestly think this is probably what I will be wearing on Christmas Day. A great combination of comfortable and festive.Red Sweater & Christmas BowUnfortunately this beautiful bow is sold out but I am sharing several other similar and festive favorites (here is the head band version or the barrette version, but I also love  this simple velvet bow, or this beautiful pleated velvet bow).DSC_1724DSC_1726Dress it up: While this outfit is super casual it can easily be dressed up. Swap out the jeans for a darker wash with heels or throw on a skirt!

Sweater: Lands End | Jeans: Gap, old (similar here) | Boots: Hunter | Ribbon, sold out (similar here, here, and here)

Like I said, I love that these outfits are all very subtly festive and can easily be worn all winter long.
