The Best Soups for Fall & Winter

Once the temperature drops its pretty much a guarantee that I will be making soup at least once a week. It is one of my favorite things to have when it is cold out and is such a comforting and cozy meal.

Over the past 2 years we have tried SO many different soup recipes and while I am always excited to try new ones there are a few favorites that we have regularly.

ChiliDSC_0826.JPGChili is a regular in our house. While I have my own personal recipe, but this one is VERY similar. You won’t be disappointed! We love to top ours with a little bit of cheese, green onions, sour cream/plain Greek yogurt, and Chili-cheese fritos if we feel like splurging.

French Onion

This is one of our absolute favorites. While it is quite time consuming to make it is absolutely worth it! The recipe is from the Bouchon Bistro cookbook (which is a favorite of ours), but you can also find the recipe online here.

Potato Bacon

This one is a cold weather classic. Definitely a cozy and comforting dinner. This recipe has been our favorite for potato bacon so far!

Broccoli CheddarIMG_6279 - Version 2.jpgI LOVE broccoli cheddar soup, but I am also very picky about what I consider to be good. This recipe is the best I have found and is also a regular in our house.

Smoky Tomato w Gruyere Toast

This is a great twist on the classic “grilled cheese and tomato soup”. The smoky soup goes perfectly with the gruyere toast! You can find the recipe here.

Roasted CauliflowerDSC_0632.JPGThis is another that requires quite a bit of work but it is incredible! We would honestly make it several times a month if we had the time. This recipe is from Ad Hoc (a GREAT cookbook), but you can find the recipe online here.

Try a few of these recipes for a cozy night at home and you won’t be disappointed! What are some of your favorites we should try?
