As I mentioned Andrew and I spent this past weekend at the lake, something we were both looking forward to. We were anxious for a weekend free of distraction, housework and errands and knew time at the lake would be a great way to enjoy these last few summer days. We got in just after dinner time so we planned on keeping things simple for our first night there. Knowing that we probably wouldn’t feel much like cooking that night we decided to keep it simple, but fun non-the-less.We unpacked and settled in before setting up dinner. The sun was just setting and the water was growing peaceful making it a perfect night for enjoying dinner outside.We decided to keep it simple and have a light snack on the dock so we brought out our crackers, cheese, and sausage along with Andrew’s favorite tea and enjoyed the breezy summer night.I wore this white shirt dress all day Friday knowing it would be comfortable for our drive to the lake (pardon the wrinkles from the long car ride) and it was perfect for our evening. Andrew always questions when I wear dresses for such casual days (like eating dinner on the dock of the lake), but to me a simple dress is much more comfortable than jeans or shorts, especially in Nebraska’s humid summer weather.Having dinner on the dock and enjoying such a beautiful night was the perfect start to our weekend at the lake. With only a few weeks left of summer I am glad to have been able to spend the entire weekend soaking it all up.
