Every month I think about what I want to accomplish or achieve so I set goals for myself. These goals vary in theme and topic but they all have one thing in common. In order to achieve my goals each month or any goals, hopes and dreams I have for the future, I need to be healthy and well. My body and mind will help me accomplish these goals, but only if I nurture and care for them as well.
After reflecting on this I decided for the month of August I would focus those goals on health and wellness. I want to make sure that I am capable of seeing my goals conquered and my dreams come true. Unless I take care of myself and treat my body well, I know this won’t happen.
This isn’t to say that I am on a healthy diet and exercise everyday because that isn’t the case at all. I still indulge and I don’t always make it to the gym as often as I’d like. And thats perfectly ok (at least to my standards it is). The important part is that I am not neglecting my body or mind. I make conscious efforts everyday to care for myself.
The amount of sleep I (try to) get, the ratio of healthy vs. unhealthy foods and the meditations I do before bed, I try my best to do little things each and everyday to care for my body and mind. In doing so I am doing my part to help my body and mind as they help me navigate life.
As Buddha said in the above quote, our body is our vehicle navigating us through life. If we do not care for our body we are not caring for our future.

Happy Monday! I am definitely working on getting more sleep too. I will try meditations to see if it helps. It sounds peaceful.

I agree with you! It’s okay to get off track with health because if you work on your health too much I feel like you will burn out! So balance is very good.
