The Perfect Spring Sweater

Spring in Nebraska can be so hard to dress for. Last week Monday was sunny and almost 80 degrees while Tuesday was chilly and rainy. I was even able to break out my shorts over Easter weekend but the days following it was back to light sweaters and pants. In the spring I usually opt for lighter weight materials so I can layer for chilly mornings and then shed pieces as it gets warmer throughout the day.

When I first saw this ruffled eyelet sweater from JCrew I knew it would be perfect for spring. Its lightweight so I can wear it under blazers or simply with jeans or shorts on warmer days.

I packed this sweater (currently 30% off) for our trip home for Easter thinking it would be perfect for the weekend, but it ending up being around 80 degrees out while we were home. I was not at all disappointed to have to switch in to jean shorts (first time of the season) shortly after we got back from the park!

Lately, I have had a major obsession with anything blush and as soon as I saw these blush flats I thought they would be a great neutral shoe. I don’t usually opt for any colored shoes other than navy, sticking to black, brown, nude, and white, but these honestly go with so much.

Spending some time in the park and admiring all of the stunning blooms got me so excited for spring. Unfortunately this past week has been mostly cloudy and gloomy here in Omaha. I can’t wait for some warmer weather and spending more time outside!

Again, thanks to my wonderful husband for being my photographer.
