Motivational Monday

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”

It has officially been Spring for almost 2 weeks now and while it is still cold and somewhat gloomy here in Nebraska I am anxious for warmer weather, sunshine, and blossoms.

While many people complain about the drastic weather changes that each season offers here in Nebraska, I for one love that we experience all for seasons. I think each season makes us appreciate the others a bit more. If we were never exposed to the harsh and snowy winters would we still appreciate the relief of mild Spring rain? Or if we didn’t have hot and humid Summers would we anxiously await the cool and crisp days of fall?

We can find the negative in every season just as we can with every job, challenge, opportunity, task, relationship, or day. While it is sometime difficult to see it, those negative aspects do help us to have a stronger appreciation of all of the positive things that we encounter.

It may be difficult to see the good in difficult times, but we learn from those moments and they help us appreciate the good times with a brighter perspective.
