Every where I look it seems like shades of yellow are going to be a big color this spring. This month’s issue of StyleWatch seemed to be filled with it and during a shopping trip with my sister I noticed it was everywhere in stores.
While I have very few yellow pieces in my closet I gravitate towards anything in a deep yellow or mustard color. That is what originally drew me to this skirt. I first ordered it thinking it would be perfect for fall to pair with sweaters and riding boots (as seen here). And while I still love it as a great fall piece I think it is perfect for transitioning into Spring.
Paired with this light weight sweater and simple flats it was great for a chillier spring day. I wore the skirt and sweater to work and had this bandana/neck tie (nautical whale print!) waiting for me in the mail when I came home. With the sailor-esque skirt and navy sweaters I knew it would be perfect for what I already had on. My mom told me the outfit looked like a 60’s flight attendant, but I love it anyhow and decided to keep the scarf on for photos!

Also, major props to my husband for agreeing to be my photographer for a while as the site grows. I think he did a pretty good job for his first time 🙂
ugh such a beautiful, nautical outfit

Lol, tell your mom 60’s flight attendants were super chic! You look great!
My husband takes my blog pics too. Although I had a real photographer take some recently, and now I’m spoiled.
